Taz Basen, Aug 2007

Parked in Taz Basen, Granite island. It was a 6 hour motor (no wind in the gulf of Alaska, what's up with dat) from Sunny Cove. It was beautiful with 100 foot high granite walls.

Elayne and Corey, enjoying the view from the granite walls of Taz Bazen.

A very calm gulf of Alaska, yet warm and sunny. We saw whales, sea lions, puffins, it was awesome.

Dave enjoying the afternoon on second evening, finally maken it to Taz basen. Wonder why this island is called granite island?

More July 07 sailing

After a exciting afternoon sailing there is nothing like a cold beer. Notice the grill behind Dave, it was shortly fired up; yum-yum.

Shelly time's as captain was exciting and she was loved it.

More female crew members, wow, the boat was full of women.

Too much wind so Dave and Elayne get ready to reef the main sail.

More Solstice, 2007

Kevin and Chris drive the boat in a sunny, steady 7 knot wind.

Parked by the glacier, which made for an exciting evening anchored about 1/2 mile away.

Takes a lot of gear for a 4 day trip, but there was enough for everyone.

Chris, Dave and Kevin are ready for some advanture.
